摘要:Behaviors such as high TC superconductivity, colossal magnetoresistivity, and the metal-insulator transition, have been tied to inherent electronic phases coexisting in a single crystal material. Spatial confinement of these mesoscopic and/or microscopic phases opens up a new window to explore such competition and finding hidden functionality. In this talk, using phase separated manganite as prototype, I will introduce spatial confinement method which allows us to observe single/several electronic domain dynamics. Furthermore, control of resistive states in manganite wires is achieved by means of local electric field gating. The underlying physics mechanism and possible application of these phenomena will be discussed.
报告人简介:
郭杭闻博士2007年本科毕业于复旦大学物理系,2013年博士毕业于美国田纳西大学/橡树岭国家实验室,现为美国路易斯安那州立大学博士后。研究方向是关联电子氧化物薄膜材料与物理。在Nat. Commun., PRL, Nano Lett., PRB等期刊发表论文多篇。
