摘要:The field of spintronics investigates the control of electron spins in additional to, and sometimes in place of, electron charges to improve the functions of electronic devices.   A plethora novel spin-related phenomena have been unveiled recently including spin transfer toque in which a spin polarized current can manipulate magnetization direction without using the Ampere field, spin battery to generate pure spin currents without charge currents, spin Seebeck and Peltier effects that gives rise to an array of spin mediated thermal properties.   In this talk, we will first review the field of spintronics and then discuss a particular application of using spintronic devices for microwave applications.    We will demonstrate the detection of microwave intensity and phases with spintronic devices, which can be used for on-chip network and frequency spectrum analyzers.
肖强(J.Q.Xiao)教授简介:
美国物理学会会员,本科毕业于南京大学,先后于1989年和1993年在约翰霍普金斯大学拿到物理学硕士与博士学位,1993-1995,在约翰霍普金斯大学物理与天文系从事博士后研究工作。1995年加入特拉华大学担任助理教授。现任该校物理学教授,同时还担任特拉华大学复合材料中心以及电子和计算机工程系兼职教授。肖强教授还担任特拉华大学纳米制备中心主任。他的研究兴趣范围为自旋电子学,软磁材料,磁性传感器,微波磁性材料与器件,超构材料等。
