摘 要:Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has drawn widespread attention as a powerful spectroscopic technique capable of non-destructive and ultrasensitive characterization down to single molecular level. Its unique physical properties are expected to generate many new applications. However, “hot spots” on traditional SERS-active substrates are found at unpredictable positions, and the SERS intensity changes dramatically from one “hot spot” to another even on the same sample due to the irregular geometry. These fatal drawbacks limit the applications in quantitative and reliable sensing. In this lecture, (1) A convenient nanoscale technique is reported for the fabrication of highly ordered hemispherical silver nanocap arrays (SNAs) templated by porous anodic alumina membranes as robust and cost-efficient SERS substrates. (2) Finite-difference time-domain calculations indicate that the structure may possess excellent SERS characteristics due to the high density and abundance of hot spots. (3) A convenient strategy is demonstrated for trace detection of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) using SNAs.
